Uefa issues Belarus sanctions, Russia to appeal football ban to CAS

Uefa, football’s European governing body, has ordered Belarusian clubs and national teams to play at neutral venues with no fans due to the country’s role in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, while the Russian Football Union (RFU) has pledged to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the joint decision by Uefa and Fifa to ban its teams from all competitions.
